Day 12: Adventures in Nurseland

Mom is calling me her tour guide now. The 2 nursing students from IPFW who were in the hospital working on mom tonight mentioned to the other students that they were working with "the miracle lady". So, the whole crew visited her room to hear her story. The picture of the crew is about 4 or 5 students short, we had more visit after I took it. Mom looks kind of yellow here, but it's the lighting in the room.

Look who was a big girl and sat on the edge of the bed today for 20 whole minutes! It cracked me up to see her sitting there with the one nurse washing her feet while the others watched on... I asked mom if she felt like Jesus. She laughed.

We're planning to hit the hay a little earlier tonight (less slumber party girl time, more sleepy time), so when we wake up bright and early at 4:45, we're ready to go. I think tomorrow, she's going to try to take a shower. They said they can put a chair in there for her to sit on and will help her wash. Exciting things happening here!

Technical stuff: still on one IV pump of fluids and IV antibiotics. Those should be finishing up this week and moving to an oral antibiotic. She's taking a small handful of meds every day to get healthy again.
