Mom had her first dialysis at the new place in Bryan. Thankfully, they transported her for the first treatment, after this, dad will be driving her there. She said it was the best one yet, now that she's getting stronger, it isn't making her quite so tired afterwards. She's not allowed to drink water, because of the amount of sodium (?? - it's what she was told), but she can have juice.
Funny for the day, mom spilled her milk, but she didn't cry over it. :) She's been eating in the dining area at the hospital with some of the other residents there for therapy. There aren't a lot of people, but it's nice to socialize. She's able to cut up her own food with a special curved knife utensil they provided for her, too. I know this isn't her eating in the dining area, but I needed a picture that wasn't her wounds to show up in the preview for the post. Also, I know she has water on her tray... this was before she was told not to drink it.
* WARNING!!! Graphic wound pictures after the next paragraph! *
Today, the Skin and Wound care team decided to debride the wounds on my mom's hands and feet. These wounds are from the tissue that either died from lack of blood flow or had blistered up from the mass amounts of fluids pumped into her body. I don't have pictures of her hands, they bandaged them up before dad got any shots of them, but he was able to get pictures of her legs and feet. Up until now, I haven't posted pictures of them. If you don't want to see them, don't scroll down. These are just shots of her legs and feet, but still hard to look at.
