Day 27: Status and updated wound pics

Mom doesn't have to go to dialysis tomorrow! I'm not sure what her schedule is going to be going forward, but she's able to skip tomorrow, so that's good news! This should help her "wonky" heart. Her urine output is pretty much at "normal" levels, so we're hoping this means they can cut back on dialysis or stop it altogether. Baby steps! I'm adding her pic from this last summer, just so there's a picture in the share of the post that isn't a wound pic. ;)

They did some more debridement to her wounds on her hands and her feet. Things are looking so much better! On the gross side, her toenails on both baby (pinky) toes fell off today. Eesh! The nurse told mom that she'd been worried that mom was going to lose her whole foot (yikes, we didn't realize it was that bad), but it's looking so much better now. She thinks mom might still lose some toes, but the foot is looking SO much better already. The wounds all look like they're healing up amazingly well.

She's had some down moments the last few days, mostly due to worry about insurance and her heart scaring her. Overall, mom has a wonderfully happy demeanor. My son and I are going to be going to visit her this weekend - we look forward to seeing her in person instead of just talking on the phone.
